For many of us, 2016 was a mighty swirl of unprecedented busy-ness and conflicting events, sometimes occurring with such velocity and scope that it seemed impossible to comprehend how we would keep up with our lives. Now, as the year draws to a close, we are faced with the opportunity of a new beginning and the hope that we can make changes for the better.
It's a natural time to pause and step back from the chaos of our souped-up worlds, enhanced with technologies we couldn't even have imagined years ago -- and it's a good time to learn that taking pause can give us peace, and bring us power.
Make a commitment to yourself to take pause, not only today as we wrap up one year and cross the threshold of another, but as often as you can as you move forward in your life. It's a wonderful phrase, "take pause" -- whether it's just a moment of looking up from your laptop screen or phone and taking in with deep breath the wonder of where you are and all the good things in your life, or the deeper rest of a leisurely long meal with loved ones, or even a vacation day that you dedicate to enriching yourself instead of just catching up on errands.
You can magnify and appreciate your experience of life and the world around you by using the power of the pause. It's important -- and it's free.
